Optional website analytics

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics to understand visits and interest in our work. Google receives page views, general browser and device information, engagement information and clicks on our brand and email links. An email-link click tells us that the link was selected; it does not tell us whether an email was sent.

Our integration sends clean page addresses without query strings or fragments, and only the origin of a referring website. It does not send email contents or identify you by name. Google processes connection information, including your IP address, when your browser connects to its service. We do not enable advertising personalisation or Google signals.

Cookies and your choice

Analytics is optional and based on your consent. Until you accept, this site's analytics integration makes no requests to Google and sets no analytics cookies. Rejecting analytics does not restrict access to the site.

We remember your choice in your browser's local storage under castle-meow.analytics-consent.v1 for up to 180 days. This preference is stored separately for each hostname and browser. If storage is blocked or cleared, we may ask again. When you accept, Google's _ga and _ga_… cookies distinguish browsers and sessions; we configure them for up to 180 days without extending their lifetime on each visit.

Use in this page or the footer to withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future collection, removes this site's accessible Analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload Analytics. It does not erase information already collected. With JavaScript disabled, this site's analytics does not run.

Retention

Our Google Analytics property uses a two-month retention period for user and event data, with the user-data reset on new activity switched off. Most standard reports use aggregated data and are not limited by these retention controls. Your browser consent choice and Analytics cookies have the separate 180-day limits described above.

Google and your information

Delivering the site requires our hosting services to process connection information such as IP addresses and requested pages; rejecting analytics does not prevent this essential processing.
